All parents and community members are welcome to join the Taverners Hill Parents & Citizens' Association. The P&C meets approximately once a month in term time to discuss issues of importance to the school and school community. It's a great way to get to know people and to get involved with the school.
Recently the P&C has focused on
- Enhancing the school grounds to improve their functionality as play and learning spaces
- Introducing the option of Italian classes after school and chess classes at lunch time
- Ongoing support for ethics classes in schools.
The P&C organises several events each year. Some of the highlights include
- A welcome morning tea for parents of Kindy students
- A welcome BBQ at the beginning of the school year
- An end-of-year school BBQ, including a visit by Santa
- Taverners' Big Night Out auction dinner (see some photos from this year's BNO on the website homepage)
- The school fete (biennial).
The Big Night Out and fete are our major fundraising activities, but they are also important social events, when the school community comes together to celebrate and support Taverners. The money raised is used to help fund agreed school priorities such as specialist music and technology programs, library and classroom resources.
The P&C meets twice each term. The meeting dates for 2015 are in the calendar and attachment.
You can find agendas and minutes through the left-hand navigation buttons.
Office bearers are elected every year. New office bearers will be elected at the first P&C meeting in February/March.
